Alessandro Nobili

Alessandro Nobili began his guitar studies with Alvaro Mantovani, then he studied with Fabio Montomoli. He graduated brilliantly at the Istituto Musicale "P. Mascagni" in Livorno. Then he studied for three years with Matteo Mela. He has been an active student in several masterclasses, held by masters of world-wide renown, such as Alirio Diaz, Eliot Fisk, Johannes Tonio Kreusch, Pier Narciso Masi (chamber music). In 2006 he was an active student at the summer courses of Accademia Chigiana in Siena with Oscar Ghiglia, and received honour diploma and scholarship.

He took part in national (1st Prize at "Rospigliosi" competition in 1998, 1st Prize at "Riviera Etrusca" competition in 2002) and international competitions (3rd Prize at "Fernando Sor" competition in 1998, 2nd Prize at "Rovere d'Oro" competition in 2004).

He usually performs as a soloist, as a member of a duo with piano with Mario Stefano Tonda, as a member of a guitar duo with Alessandro Benedettelli, as a member of a duo with sax with Davide Vallini. He performed as a soloist with "G. B Viotti" Orchestra from Grosseto, with "Youth Arts and Sounds" Orchestra from La Spezia and with Orchestra Regionale di Roma e del Lazio.

He graduated in musicology with full marks cum laude at the Facoltà di Musicologia in Cremona (belonging to the Università di Pavia); the title of his dissertation is "Le Rossiniane opp. 119-124 by Mauro Giuliani: historic-analitycal study and critical edition". He held lectures about several musicological arguments in music schools, high schools and musical happenings. He writes on "Allegro con Brio", the musical periodical of Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma. He is guitar teacher at the “Sironi” middle school in Riccò del Golfo and at the “Piaget” middle school in La Spezia, Italy, and also at the SIEM music school in Riccò del Golfo. In the past he has been a guitar and a music history teacher in several music schools. He has been Matteo Mela’s assistant at the Mattinata courses, and a teacher at the "Summer musical masterclasses" in Piombino. As a member of the musical association "Liveart" he contributes to the organization of the "Alvaro Mantovani" International Guitar Festival, which takes place every year in Follonica. He recorded “Guitar Recital” for SAM, with music by Sor, Barrios, Ginastera, Villa-Lobos, Turina and Giuliani.
